Healthcare leaders and champions from the United Kingdom and Ireland have established the HIMSS U.K. and Ireland Community, connecting the nations to advance global efforts led by HIMSS and its partner organizations.
The HIMSS UK and Ireland Community is an interregional group that mobilizes, supports and connects healthcare professionals. The community will promote education, collaboration and the adoption of best practices to deliver better healthcare.
The group will promote and nurture collaboration among all participating countries to support digital health transformation. It provides its members with access to regional, national and international networks of digital health leaders, enabling them to stay informed on the latest digital innovations in healthcare.
The community is supported by a steering committee of health transformation thought leaders and strategic partners who have access to a broad network of healthcare and technology professionals.
Jonah Aburrow-Jones, chair of the HIMSS U.K. and Ireland Community, shared his excitement for the new community.
“For the first time, we have formed a community that brings together all five nations of the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland to create a forum to discuss and share insights on how to develop and advance all aspects of digital health and care,” Aburrow-Jones said.
"We have been fortunate to create a steering committee that includes clinicians, digital health and care professionals, from local, regional and national and national organisations as well as advocates for inclusion and accessibility,” he said. “Through the guidance of that committee, we have set a goal to provide a safe, welcoming forum for professionals at all levels to be comfortable to ask questions, share experiences and learn in order to advance digital enabled transformation and maturity."
The steering committee will also provide market insights on trends and national eHealth priorities, closing the innovation gap in healthcare in the region.
Join a HIMSS community to connect, learn and lead health information and technology initiatives with like-minded colleagues around the globe.
